So we’re back and we have some tips for all of you who are going (or planning on going) to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
10 – Plan, Plan, Plan!
You may think there is not a lot to do at the Halloween party, but there is more than you can see while you are there, so plan out ahead of time what the most important things you want to do are so that you can make the most of your time when you enter the park.
9 – Expect the Unexpected
…or maybe the not-so-unexpected. Plan for rain! It is Florida, and some of the activities may be delayed, or even canceled, on account of rain. Plan to be flexible and adjust accordingly.
8 – Pictures!
Many characters only show up at special events, and this is one of them! You’ll see a lot of characters, particularly villains, who will only make an appearance at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so make time to meet them!
7 – Food
During the party, various places through the park will offer treats specific to the Halloween party, such as Candy Corn Soft Serve! Be sure to find out who is offering what and try something new!
6 – Rides and Attractions
Because there is so much to do during the Halloween party, make sure to get in all your rides during the Halloween party! The one exception would be The Haunted Mansion, which is extra magical during the party!
5 – Picking the Right Day
For lower crowds and a less-congested party, consider going on a Tuesday, and the further back from Halloween you go, the better! It only get crazier the closer the holiday comes!
4 – Candy
Kids of all ages are given a Trick-Or-Treat bag to collect all the candy they can at Trick-Or-Treat sites throughout the Magic Kingdom! If you’re going Trick-Or-Treating (you should…remember, there are no adults at the Magic Kingdom!), plan to go near the end of the night as the crowds are winding down; they tend to be more generous with their handouts at this point!
3 – Lockers
If you plan to spend the entire day at the park and then stay for the Halloween party, you don’t have to wear a costume all day. Rent a locker as you come into the park and place your costume and any makeup or accessories in it, then come back to it before the party starts and transform yourself!
2 – Save Money!
With the purchase of a Halloween ticket, you will be able to enter the park at 4pm, even though the party doesn’t start until 7pm. Therefore, if you are okay spending only half a day at the Magic Kingdom, you can save money by just purchasing the party ticket, relaxing until 4pm and then entering the park!
1 – HAVE FUN!
Whether you are used to dressing up or not (I was not), it does not take much to throw together a simple costume and just have fun with it! If you’re into elaborate costumes, knock yourself out. If not, you can go the route I chose. I picked up a pair of fairy wings, a wand and some “pixie dust” (glitter) at the dollar store. Just remember: a little glitter goes a long way!
Hope this helps you on your adventure! Happy Halloween, and have a magical week!
