Disney World Vacation Day 1 & 2 2013 | Leann’s Highlights

Disney World Vacation Day 1 & 2 2013 | Leann’s Highlights

This vacation we decided that it would be a lot slower then the others we had taken.  We said we would have lots of down time to just rest.  Yeah right!  We always say that but there is a small flaw in our DNA.  We never want to miss anything.

2013-09-20 10.38.02We started out driving.  There were 8 total that went on this vacation.  4 flew and 4 drove.  Tim, Mom, Libby and myself were in the van at 9pm on Thursday night to start our trip.

After kissing all those who were flying good-bye, we were on our way.  I am the primary driver and headed south and told the crew to go to sleep.  Within an hour they were!

Driving there is quick, well at least it seems like it.  We only stop for gas and breakfast since we drive through the night.

Stopping for breakfast in the south at Cracker Barrel is a tradition that we have done since I was little.  We have stopped there usually somewhere between Tennessee and Georgia every time we drive.

We always get a great breakfast with some friendly people.  Once we have eaten and stretched our legs, we head out to the porch.  For as long as I can remember we get our pictures taken in the rocking chairs.

Some of the precious memories I have is those pics.  It is a great tradition that I am now passing along to my family.

Once we get into Florida and check into our condo, we head to Walmart to get our supplies.  We eat most breakfast at the condo so it is a must to do before we get the week started.

Another great thing is that there is soo many cheap souvenirs there. They have a great selection of T-shirts at half the cost. Plus all kinds of other gift items that are genuine Disney.

On that Saturday we woke up and went swimming.  Something on this trip that we thought we would do a lot more of but couldn’t do as much do to the rain.

Saturday night has become another tradition for us.  It is the night we go to Downtown Disney.  Why a tradition?  See we used to live about an hour away from Disney several years ago.  In that time we developed lots of great friends and this is our meeting place when we come to their neck of the woods.

It is so much fun.  We eat there, shop there, and just have a great time with our friends and their families.  They have so much to do, but one of the things we love is the amphitheater.  They have a kid focused DJ that plays games and music geared toward our little ones.

That catches you up on Day 1 & 2.  Make sure you watch for Day 3 at the Magic Kingdom next week!

Have a magical day!
